Veteran Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza stated that he is fully committed to Zimbabwe Cricket when asked if he will ever represent Pakistan, the country he was born into, again.
Raza, 38, made his debut for Zimbabwe in a T20I match against Bangladesh on May 11, 2013, and emerged as one of the best all-rounders in cricket with time.
The 38-year-old has Zimbabwe in 250 international matches so far and has plans to continue playing for them in the future.
A fan asked Raza if he would ever represent Pakistan again as the Green Shirts have been struggling with their middle-order for a long time and his inclusion may ease their worries.
Raza reaffirmed his commitment to Zimbabwe saying that while he was born in Pakistan, he is the product of Zimbabwe Cricket.
“I am a born Pakistani and a product of Zimbabwe Cricket. I will only and ever represent Zimbabwe. They spent time and money on me, and I am only trying to repay their faith, and whatever I achieve will never even get close to repaying it. Zim is mine and am theirs fully,” Sikandar Raza responded to the fan on X, formerly Twitter.
Zimbabwe will play Pakistan in a white-ball series consisting of three ODIs and as many T20Is in November 2024 and Raza is likely to participate.
