Lamine Yamal explained how Spain can beat England in the European Championship (Euro) 2024 final which is set to be played at the Olympiastadion Berlin on Sunday.

Yamal has been on fire in Euro 2024 as he is the top assister of the tournament and also scored an important goal against France in the semi-final.

The 17-year-old will once again be the centre of attention as England’s head coach Gareth Southgate will have a plan to contain and limit the threat he poses.

"A dream final, especially with England in front. Everyone wants to play matches like that. Now what we want is for the cup to end in Spain,” Yamal said while talking to MARCA.

The left-footed star then added that the key to beating Spain is just to play the way they have been playing throughout the tournament.

"Playing the way we are doing, like against Germany or France. Being ourselves, having the ball and controlling the game at all times. I think we are the best at that and nobody can stop us if we do that,” Yamal said when asked how Spain could win on Sunday night.

"It is clear that as a team there is no one like Spain, playing the ball, going for the pressure. We are doing very well. In the end, putting that intensity in is key. Without it you cannot win a Euro final."

Earlier, it was reported that Yamal’s playing time could be limited in the final against England.

According to German laws, a minor (below the age of 18) cannot work after 8pm in the country. With most Euro 2024 matches starting at 9pm local time, Yamal, being a sportsman, was given special dispensation to continue playing till 11.

If the match entered into extra time, Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente would be forced to take Yamal off at 90 minutes as after that, Lo Roja would be at a constant risk of breaking a German law.

Should Yamal continue to play after 90 minutes, Spain could reportedly be hit with a fine of up to €30,000 (£25,390) for the infraction but will not face any sporting sanctions.
