Carlos Alcaraz defended his Wimbledon men's title with a win in straight sets over Novak Djokovic at the Centre Court on Sunday.

The Spanish third seed delivered a display blending formidable power with finesse to secure a 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7/4) victory, clinching the fourth Grand Slam of his early career.

Alcaraz matches the Open Era record for most Grand Slam victories at age 21 or younger, alongside Boris Becker, Bjorn Borg, and Mats Wilander.

Moreover, he becomes only the sixth man to achieve consecutive wins at the French Open and Wimbledon.

Alcaraz took control in a first game of stunning quality that lasted 14 minutes, capitalising on his fifth break point.

The Spaniard quickly found his rhythm on serve and secured a double break when Djokovic double-faulted in the fifth game.

The Serb, playing in his 10th Wimbledon final, held serve to love to close the gap to 5-2 but dumped the ball into the net to hand the Spaniard the first set.

Alcaraz was immediately on the front foot in the second set, forcing a break in the first game and fending off pressure on his own serve to take a 2-0 lead.

A Djokovic backhand into the net in the seventh game handed Alcaraz another break point and a double fault put the defending champion 5-2 up and on the cusp of a two-set lead.

Djokovic successfully defended numerous break points early in the third set to remain in contention and displayed signs of finding his form.

However, the Spaniard created three break points in the ninth game, executing a precise passing shot past his stranded opponent to take a 5-4 lead.

Alcaraz then served for the championship but failed to convert three match points, including a straightforward drive volley miss as Djokovic broke serve for the first time in the match.

But, he regained his composure swiftly as the set progressed to a tie-break.

Djokovic hit a forehand wide, conceding a 5-3 advantage to Alcaraz who secured the title on his fourth championship point.

This outcome means Djokovic has yet to defeat a top-ten player this year and remains without a title.

The Serbian will now shift his focus to the Paris Olympics, where he aims to secure his first Olympic gold medal.
